Matches
Matches will follow FIVB 2024 rules (see FIVB OFFICIAL VOLLEYBALL RULES 2021-2024)
The specific EVC league format below will be applied.
Each game is allocated 120 minutes. There will be 10 minutes of warm up between games as well as 5 minutes of net time per team.
Teams should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled match time.
Matches will start at the scheduled time, unless the prior match ends at the scheduled game time, in which case, teams will have the allocated time to warm up and complete net time prior to the match beginning.
In the event that a game has ended significantly early prior to the scheduled match time and the duty and playing teams are present and willing to start early, the match may begin ahead of schedule.
Each match will be played as the best of 5 sets. A team will have to win 3 sets to win the match. If a fifth set (Tie-break) is required, this will go up to 15 points (win by 2 points).
Teams will be allowed two, 30 seconds time-outs per set.
There will be a 3 minute break between sets.
If a match won’t be completed by the end of the allocated time, the team that has won the majority of sets will be declared the winner.
If the teams have won an equal amount of sets, the team that has scored the highest amount of points throughout the game will be declared the winner.
12 substitution rules will apply.
Scoresheets and rotation sheets (will be provided) must be completed prior to the match and each set start, respectively.
Local rules will be applied, including that the ball can be played off the roof of the gym as long as it remains on the same side of the team that is playing out the rally.
